I had dinner with a really old friend last night. He asked about my family, work, and I asked him about his.
'So how's your sister (Elizabeth)?', I asked (the names have been changed to protect the guilty)...
"She's grand. Still going out with Patrick....Jeez....what a douchebag...."
'Ha, why, what's he done now?'
"Well, he got himself a Ferrari."
'Oh yeah, what one?'
"A 355. But he can't drive it. AT ALL! Everywhere he goes it's screaming through the revs while he teeters along and he's petrified of changing gear (the kid is only 23-4; Hedge Fund sort...). The other day we all went down to Mum and Dads' and as we all waited for Patrick and Lizzie to turn up, Dad moved both cars off the driveway to let him park. He said that the last time he came down, he spent 15 minutes trying to park it in a space left empty by a Ford Transit....oh yeah, once, he stayed in bed so late that he missed breakfast and lunch. So my Dad told him when he came down that he had to wait until dinner for anything to eat in their house. He just got in the Fezza and apparently went down to McDonalds. When he came back, the right side rims were totally scored up. He'd rinsed the alloys on the kerb at the drive-thru....what a waste...."
Youth. Wasted on the young.
