Brabus Bullit

What has 720bhp, a twin-turbocharged 6.2 litre V12 in a Mercedes-Benz W204 C-Class saloon body? Yep, another of those harum-scarum Brabus beasts: the Bullit.

I saw a figure of $515,000 quoted, as to how much one of these would cost. To be perfectly frank, you must have a warped sense of humour or maybe teetering on the fine line that separates normality and insanity, to actually go out and buy one of these. Wanting one, of course, with all that playful torque, and thinly packaged herculean power, is normal. But buying a C-Class body with a dragster engine? Nuts. Or you have so much money that when you know all your friends have Veyrons, SLRs, Drophead Coupes....then what do you buy to be different?

Most of these (loose term that, as I reckon you can count on two hands, total production since 2007), will end up in the UAE and Saudi. And it's with this knowledge that whilst many might visibly recoil from seeing orange liveried and Mansoried Maybachs or lime-green wrapped G-Wagens, you have to give the playboys of the middle-eastern world their dues: they love cars. And it's with their huge spending power that whilst they will first pop over to Bentley for their brand new Arnage, they will also have the loose change and free parking space to fill out with these other freakish sideshows. Without them, Brabus would leave the Bullit as an entertaining exhibit suitable for parading at the annual motorshows.
