Alpina Roadster 3.4s

I believe only 500 made, of which 167 in RHD. It always amazes me how Alpina now take a great BMW (in general), often make it a tad quicker, find nicer alloys, smooth out the ride and then make it drink less juice. It's like taking some nice drinks to a party, then the Host grabs them, shoves them in a bowl, throws in some fruit and offers up Punch! And everyone thanks the Host for a great drink........

Cars that you think are 'rare', well, become more present when you least expect it: Alpinas for instance (like the D3) whilst not common, are around. Since I saw my very first Alpina Roadster S, I've seen five more. I suppose what I'm saying is that for your average guy in the street, yes, he wants a BMW, as it's the default choice. For someone to go out there and say, '...but I want the Alpina version', almost infers that they know the difference and crucially, want the difference. Therefore it's easy to imply that there are quite a few enthusiasts out there who actively seek the variety of a D3 over a normal 330d for instance.
