Jensen Interceptor Mark III

Gorgeous. We had a proper car industry once.....

On my bedroom wall as a kid, I had Elle McPherson, Cindy Crawford and a Vector Supercar. Then I saw this in Holland Park when I was about 12. But Athena never stocked a picture of it.

This is a Mark III version, the last interation before the brief comeback in the mid-80's. Of the 4225 built (only 6408 for the total 1966-76 production), the last of the first phase cars utilised a big-block 7.2 litre V8.

The Interceptor was, in it's day, up there with Aston Martin's and Bentley's as a true sporting GT rival. A gentleman's express, I will not be so crass as to provide performance statistics, but suffice it to say, it would not be found wanting.
