AC Cobra 'Recreation'

With camera in hand, snapping away, this really tall, elderly man came into view. He slowly pulled out a Nokia N95 (spotter weapon of choice) and waited for me to move then took his own shots of the car. I swear to God it looked like Carroll Shelby. I swear it.....

He grinned at me, and with a drawl said it was real, then off he ambled down the King's Road.

Probably wasn't him.

This car is identified as first registered in 2007. It has a 5 litre V8. Original AC Cobras, those of the pure lineage, 289's and 427's, are few and very far, between. There is a slight market in replica or recreations models. Even kit cars. Shelby themselves maintain production of a few, but that's irrelevant. People I believe don't care that much, as the original was one of the legendary cars.

Cars are enjoyed by a lot of people. But there are only a very small few that elicit real wonderment and awe, that transcend the generations. The Cobra and it's replicas are some of them.

This is actually registered as an AC. It would be interesting to know it's full history.
