One of my very first jobs - short-lived as I was fired for being insubordinate - had me spending a lot of time reading a bunch of documentation about Lockheed and a court case. Not much to talk about and anyway maybe I shouldn't, but it involved special processes, secret planes and technology, and some people who innocently were caught up in something that would affect them for many years afterwards. It got me into learning about the world of 'Skunk Works'.

When I walk round the corner near where I live, I'm confronted by my neighbour's piano black BMW E34 535i. As he drives it down the street, I love the way the valve stems of the plump tires circulate slowly round the BBS 17x8 Rims; the "Sorry mate, you ain't coming in tonight. In fact, never...", headlights; and that baritone thrum that really makes me long for it....

It has an engine and a sound that suits it's look. It's intangible and not a calculable metric, but to me, it has soul.....

When I first saw the Range Stormer it was at a very unexpected moment. It just rolled round the corner bizarrely, just when I'd already seen huge amounts of hardware. "I thought it didn't exist!", was the overriding thought...

The standard Murcielago is not exactly for softies. It's styled purposely to look like a Stealth bomber on wheels. The Laupheim-based tuners take an already incredibly formed car and just add sugar. Apart from the completely, individually customized, interior, 20" Race Edition wheels are fitted, and a double-pipe stainless steel exhaust system replaces the factory original.
