Audi Ur-S6 C4 (Typ 4A)

There is something about Audi's made between, say 1980 and 1995. The stark lines, and the unfeeling headlamps. I think their current design language of LED running lamps and the flowing lines penned by Walter da Silva, is an interesting one, but it's no different from all the other overtures other manufacturers are making to 'dress' up their lines.

Hola.....

Had to see a man about a dog today. So jumped in the car and routed through Central London. Anyway, I'm coming out of a junction and I had judged it that with the room in front of the car in front of me, and with the lack of traffic on my right, I could make the turn with him (the car in front).

There was a yellow box in the middle, but there was enough room/time to clear it.

When I walk round the corner near where I live, I'm confronted by my neighbour's piano black BMW E34 535i. As he drives it down the street, I love the way the valve stems of the plump tires circulate slowly round the BBS 17x8 Rims; the "Sorry mate, you ain't coming in tonight. In fact, never...", headlights; and that baritone thrum that really makes me long for it....

It has an engine and a sound that suits it's look. It's intangible and not a calculable metric, but to me, it has soul.....

I didn't go to this year's Race Of Champions, but during one of the many intervals in last year's tournament, was a moment I won't forget. The last time I had been to Wembley was to watch Arsenal-Fiorentina. All I remembered was how it, to me, was just a urine soaked dump.

Awful.

I caught 'Ronin' on TV the other night. Watching it again, I thought a bit more about it. The film is all about ex-Cold War operatives working for hire where there's a New World Order. The colours are all fairly drab. The clothes don't stand out. I've never seen Paris portrayed so dispassionately.

Audi V8 (& a 200 Quattro C3)

It's strange how some days work out. I did see a few things of interest but for whatever reason all I captured were these two 'rarish' Audis. I say rare, because once again, you don't see these models around too often.
