I think I would have been around seven or eight. I was walking back from the shops with my grandfather when out of nowhere came this stressed, squawking, knock-kneed harridan, waving her arms in the air screaming 'HELP! HELP!"

I can be incredibly mischevious. This particular car is a relative fixture in the swathe of London between Knightsbridge and Mayfair, and if you're in the know, then you aren't surprised when it shrieks past.

A few years ago, I remember walking down the road adjacent to Hyde Park with my good pal and when the traffic slowed to a halt we took in the visual delights of an Aston Martin Vanquish. Seated inside was Hugh Grant and Jemima Khan. The archetypal British 'Establishment' actor with Goldsmith produce, tooling along in a great car. Except that he was hoping it wouldn't play up. Like he did all the time. Because as fantastic as it looked, it just wasn't quite the GT to have. No. But the 550/575 was...

When running my errands today, I turned a corner and about twenty yards in front of me was a woman with the most amazing body. I was only looking at her from behind, but she was approximately 5'8, 5'9 with long bouncy brown hair. Wearing a fitted men's blazer, with the obligatory Versace bag hanging from her arm, it was those long toned legs, framed in grey lycra, propped up with killer high heels, that made me up my pace. We happened to be walking in the same direction, and as I entered the convenience store with her, I saw her face for the first time. My world came crashing down.

I got a little lost today. I was looking for Graeme Hunt's shop - have cravings for a 90's Vantage - and ended up driving past Gregor Fisken's place instead. My friend and I, of course, had to pop in and look over his wonderful stock - it would have been, quite frankly, very rude not to - but as we did, and Mr Fisken was shutting up shop, then an almighty 'bark' emanated, a few mews doors along. That, I said to my mate, had to be checked out..........

With the numerals standing for 3.4 litre V8, I find the TB to be an astonishingly pretty car.

What's over 98% of five metres? Answer: a 612 Scaglietti. Those are big dimensions in anyone's book. The replacement for the 456 is a fantastic car in many respects. Whilst it's name is not particularly evocative, almost unbecoming of Ferrari with no significant romanticism in it's spelling or pronounciation, and the dimensions of the car defy the owner not to have the biggest alloys possible, it maintains an almost unparalleled position in the car market.

Canary Wharf. I'll moan about the F430 being a bit commonplace in London, but you don't often see the rarer strain.

I had dinner with a really old friend last night. He asked about my family, work, and I asked him about his.
