The thing with the Maybach, maybe to a greater extent with the Phantom, is it's all about "Lebensraum".
It was John D Rockefeller who once said,

"I can think of nothing less pleasurable than a life devoted to pleasure."

There's a place in Chicago called Merchandise Mart. When conceived, it was the biggest building in the world. A veritable emporium where you could buy anything you wanted, all under one roof. When the Sultan of Brunei was looking to furnish one of his palaces very quickly, he had one of his flunkeys fly to the Windy City who proceeded to drop $1.6m in four hours. The Sultan's reasoning: it was the one place where he could complete the task in a week.

Now if you are thinking wheels, then what would do? Well it would have to be the Maybach 62.

The summer is drawing in, and the light is fading. The playboys have had their fun, and for the most part the fancy cars are leaving town. It's been a lot of fun and very interesting seeing all this exotica, and words never cease me as to the lengths some owners will go to, to personalise their machinery.
